The rules

How dark can you tint in Florida?

Florida's limits apply to the measured visible light transmission (VLT) of the glass and film together, not the film shade on the label. Factory privacy glass affects the final VLT. Front side windows need at least 28% installed VLT; windows behind the driver need at least 15% for passenger cars or 6% for qualifying multipurpose passenger vehicles. We verify classification rather than assuming every SUV, truck or van qualifies.

Front side windows need at least 28% installed glass-plus-film VLT. Windows behind the driver need at least 15% for passenger cars or 6% for verified qualifying multipurpose passenger vehicles. Factory privacy glass affects the result.
